These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the free online PDF editor at LibertyPDF.com and every tool on it (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you become a "User", you accept these Terms in full, and you confirm you have read our Privacy Policy. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THESE TERMS, DO NOT USE THE SERVICE.

1. Who we are

LibertyPDF ("we") is a small independent free service, operated from Jacksonville, Florida, USA. The Service runs on servers located in the United States (primary: Chicago, Illinois). Contact: help@libertypdf.com. There are no accounts, no subscriptions, and no paid plans: every visitor gets the same free Service.

2. Who may use the Service

You may use the Service if you are over 18, or a minor acting with the permission and under the responsibility of an adult — all liability for a minor's acts lies exclusively with the supervising adult. You may not use the Service where a court or authority has barred you from using services of this kind.

3. License to use the Service

As long as you comply with these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for its intended purpose: editing your own PDF documents in your browser. We (or our licensors) own all rights in the Service itself — its code, design, name, and logos. Nothing here transfers any intellectual-property rights to you. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or redistribute the Service or its programs, nor use them (or anything derived from them) to build, train, or improve machine-learning or AI systems.

4. Acceptable use

Use the Service in good faith, lawfully, and only for its intended purpose. In particular, you may not: flood or overload the Service (including bots, scrapers, or super-human conversion rates); share or abuse access; upload malware or anything illegal or that infringes anyone's rights; upload content you have no right to use; attempt to breach, probe, or disable our security or rate limits; deceive, threaten, or harm others through the Service; or generate deceptive synthetic media or deepfakes. If we conclude you are breaching these Terms, we may block or limit your access without notice. Normal human editing — even heavy daily use — will never trip our limits.

5. Your files

"Content" means anything you upload, import, or create with the Service. You keep all rights in your Content; we claim no ownership, license, or interest in it and will never sell, publish, or mine it. Processing is purely technical and temporary: your files live only long enough to render pages while you work and build your download on export, and the automatic cleanup permanently deletes them about an hour after your last activity. You are solely responsible for your Content. Keep your own copies of anything important, and back up before editing. If you believe Content on the Service infringes your rights, write to us and we will act diligently once we have effective knowledge of it.

6. Passwords are your responsibility

Passwords you enter to open protected PDFs are used once to unlock that upload and are never stored. If you lock an export with a password and lose it, the file cannot be recovered — not even by us. Treat the built-in encryption as a strong everyday-privacy deterrent, not certified protection for state secrets or regulated data.

7. Donations are gifts, not purchases

Contributions via the Donate page buy server time and coffee. They purchase no features, priority, storage, support contracts, or influence over the Service, and are non-refundable — though if one goes wrong (a duplicate charge, say), write to help@libertypdf.com and we'll make it right.

8. Support

We aim to keep the Service available and correct, and the Help Center answers common questions. There is no guaranteed response time and no support for modified or obsolete versions. If you share a file with us to diagnose a problem, you authorize us to keep and technically examine that file solely to fix the issue.

9. Changes to the Service

We may modify, update, or occasionally suspend parts of the Service to fix errors, improve performance, or add features. Paid nothing means owed nothing extra: updates are included free. If we ever permanently discontinue the Service, we will give reasonable advance notice so you can finish and download your work.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as-is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or compatibility with your hardware or software. We are not liable for lost files or edits, lost profits or data, business interruption, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Because the Service is free, our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us — zero. You use the Service at your own risk; if that is unacceptable, your sole remedy is to stop using it. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these Terms or your violation of law or third-party rights.

11. Abuse, fraud, and termination

Phishing sites imitate free tools like ours: only trust LibertyPDF.com itself, and never enter credentials into links from unsolicited messages claiming to be us. Viruses, hacking attempts, denial-of-service attacks, payment fraud, and any breach of section 4 may lead to immediate blocking and a report to the authorities where appropriate. These Terms apply for as long as you use the Service; you end them by stopping use. Either side's surviving obligations (content rights, liability limits) outlive termination.

12. Other provisions

Links to third-party sites are for information only; their own terms govern. We are excused from delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control (outages, disasters, strikes, government acts). We may update these Terms for legal, technical, or service reasons; continued use after publication means acceptance — if you disagree, stop using the Service. Notices to you go to the contact details you give us (if any) or a notice on the site. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. If any clause is held invalid, the rest stand. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA; disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Duval County, Florida, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you hold elsewhere.
